PDP Governors ADC criticism heats up as forum blasts defectors for calling the party insensitive, branding ADC a “one-chance vehicle.”
PDP Governors ADC criticism took a sharp turn on Monday as the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of hypocrisy, lashing out at recent remarks made by ADC leaders over the PDP’s meeting in Gusau, Zamfara State.

In a fiery statement signed by Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, the Forum’s Director-General, the PDP described the ADC as a “one-chance vehicle” and likened its members to prodigal sons now seeking public sympathy after making poor political choices.
“Since their exit, the PDP has become much more formidable and focused,” the statement read.
“The ADC, before now, with their inordinate sense of entitlement, constituted a huge clog to the wheel of national unity and harmony.”
The row began after ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, criticized the PDP governors’ colourful gathering in Zamfara, calling it an “insensitive jamboree” amid continued killings by bandits in the region.
He accused the PDP governors of disregarding the grief of affected citizens and using the occasion for political theatre.
But the PDP governors responded with biting words, stating that the ADC’s attacks were not only unwarranted but reeked of frustration and political bitterness.
The PDP said the Gusau meeting was not spontaneous, but pre-scheduled and focused heavily on pressing national concerns, including insecurity.
The communique issued after the meeting condemned widespread killings and called for urgent federal government intervention in crisis-prone states like Katsina, Niger, Plateau, and Benue.
“Playing politics with human lives isn’t our stock in trade as is characteristic of the ADC,” Agbo said.
“They should have visited the affected states instead of playing to the gallery.”
In a mix of sarcasm and olive-branch diplomacy, the PDP Forum said it remains open to welcoming defectors back—if they return with genuine remorse.
“The ADC are like prodigal sons. But unlike the Biblical story, they have no pity for the father’s fortune,” the PDP added.
Agbo further argued that the PDP had grown stronger since certain members exited to join the ADC, stating that the party has found peace and renewed focus in their absence.
The Forum stressed that insecurity remains a central concern for the PDP governors, and it was thoroughly discussed during the Gusau gathering.
The communique, which was shared publicly, reportedly commended the Zamfara State Government’s localized efforts to curb violence while also criticizing the federal government’s response to insecurity nationwide.

“We were deliberate in our deliberations. It’s unfortunate that the ADC couldn’t see that,” Agbo concluded.
