APM Lagos vows to unseat APC in 2027 as governorship candidate Laja Adeoye rallies party leaders and candidates for a stronger election campaign
The Allied Peoples’ Movement in Lagos State has renewed its challenge to the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections, with governorship candidate Laja Adeoye declaring that APM Lagos is united and prepared to compete strongly across the state.

Laja Adeoye made the declaration on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, after a strategic meeting with the party’s Senate and House of Representatives candidates, State Executive Committee members and other key stakeholders in Lagos.
The meeting, organised by the Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation, brought together senior party officials, candidates and grassroots leaders to review the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
The gathering included the state chairman, secretary, woman leader, organising secretary, publicity secretary and youth leader, alongside chairmen of APM structures across Lagos’ 20 local government areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas.
Adeoye said the meeting provided an opportunity for party leaders and candidates to address internal issues, improve coordination and make strategic appointments as political activities intensify ahead of the polls.
He described the outcome as a significant step towards building a more coordinated and competitive political structure across Lagos.
“APM Lagos remains one strong, united family,” Adeoye said.
The governorship candidate said the party would seek substantial support for its candidates across all levels of the 2027 elections, including the governorship and National Assembly contests.
“The party is fully committed to delivering massive votes for all our candidates, from top to bottom,” he stated.
The renewed mobilisation reflects APM Lagos’ intention to move beyond the governorship contest and establish a broader electoral presence across the state.
Adeoye said stronger cooperation between candidates, party executives and grassroots members would be crucial to achieving that objective.
He reaffirmed the commitment of his campaign organisation to working closely with the party leadership and members across Lagos as preparations for the elections gather momentum.
The APM candidate also urged party members and supporters to remain focused and disciplined, stressing that unity would be central to the party’s campaign strategy.
He maintained that the strength of APM Lagos would depend largely on its structures across the LGAs and LCDAs and the commitment of its members.
With the 2027 elections still ahead, the party faces the significant task of converting its organisational claims into sustained grassroots support in a state where the APC remains a dominant political force.

For now, Adeoye’s message is one of confidence and determination, as APM Lagos seeks to strengthen its structures and position itself as a credible challenger to the ruling party.
