APC denies campaign council rumours, with spokesman Felix Morka insisting any changes to the 2027 list will be formally announced
The All Progressives Congress has dismissed reports that it withdrew its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council list, with National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka describing the reports as “rumour” in Abuja on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Morka said the APC would formally announce any changes to the campaign structure if adjustments were made, amid speculation surrounding the list released as part of preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking to TheCable, the APC spokesman said there was no basis for reports claiming that the party had withdrawn the list.
“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” Morka said.
The clarification comes after reports circulated that the ruling party had reversed its earlier decision on the composition of the Presidential Campaign Council.
The APC recently unveiled its campaign structure as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu prepares to seek re-election in 2027.
The composition generated reactions within the party, particularly over the inclusion and exclusion of some political figures.
The resulting speculation has fuelled questions about whether the party might review its campaign arrangements before the election.
Morka’s latest comments suggest that, for now, the APC has no publicly announced change to the list.
The party spokesman also made clear that any genuine alteration would be communicated through an official announcement rather than speculation.
The development comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gradually intensify, with the APC seeking to consolidate its political structure and opposition parties working to build competing alliances.
For the ruling party, an organised campaign structure will be central to its effort to secure another term for Tinubu, while the reported disagreements surrounding the list underline the political sensitivities involved in assembling a broad campaign team.
