The NNPP Oyo executives have been elected as the party signals strong readiness to compete for power in the 2027 general election
The Oyo State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party has elected members of its executive council, declaring readiness to make significant inroads in the 2027 general election.

The newly elected executives are led by Chairman Makinde Sunday, with Chief Bandele Oyekunle as Deputy Chairman and Mr Olalekan Abiodun as Secretary.
Other members include Mr Olapade Timothy as Publicity Secretary, Adewale Orosiji as Financial Secretary, Elder Atanda Lawrence as Organising Secretary, and Aware Ajoke as Legal Adviser.
The executive council also includes Opeyemi Ibrahim as Treasurer, Mrs Dasola Adebayo as Women Leader, and Mr Oyewole Taiwo as Youth Leader.
Speaking after the election, Makinde Sunday said the NNPP Oyo executives were prepared to reposition the party and provide credible leadership ahead of the next general election.
He said the party was determined to present itself as a viable alternative in Oyo State politics.
Makinde stated that the experience within the state executive council would help the party conduct thorough groundwork and strengthen its electoral strategy.
He added that the leadership would ensure a level playing field for all aspirants seeking elective offices under the party’s platform.
Addressing residents of the state, Makinde said the NNPP was ready to bring relief and improved welfare to the people, accusing the current Peoples Democratic Party administration of increasing hardship.
He described the party’s welfare agenda as people focused and inclusive.
The NNPP chairman also invited politicians with ambitions to join the party, saying its doors remained open to those seeking a platform to realise their political goals.

Political observers say the emergence of a structured leadership signals the party’s intention to consolidate its presence in Oyo State as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
