Fintiri, who formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) two weeks ago, made the pledge during a visit to the APC national secretariat.
He met with National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) in a closed-door session.
“We have fully aligned at the moment to APC, because it’s a home return for most of us. Today I’m here officially to pledge my loyalty to the party and ensure that we deliver on the electoral value,” Fintiri said.
The governor assured that Adamawa would contribute no less than 85 per cent of the state’s votes to the APC.
He expressed optimism that the Tinubu administration’s performance would secure Nigerians’ support for a second term.
“Judging by the work done by President Tinubu, he deserves a second term, and I think it’s going to be smooth. The policies may be harsh, but Nigerians will vote for him to ensure his re-election,” Fintiri added.
In his remarks, APC National Chairman Yilwatda welcomed Fintiri, describing him as “a fitted political maestro” whose experience would strengthen the party in the North-East.
“Bringing him into the APC is one of the best actions we’ve had in recent times. He is a progressive with a progressive mind; in our party, his policies will be best appreciated and fit into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu,” Yilwatda said.
On the opposition ahead of the 2027 polls, Yilwatda noted that “it is not our duty to organise opposition political parties. Our duty is to ensure we win the election.” He emphasised that the APC would focus on presenting its achievements to Nigerians, citing council election outcomes as proof of the party’s growing acceptance.
