Speaking to journalists after a meeting in Akure, the state capital, the forum’s facilitator, Chief Ademola Ijabiyi, declared that Ondo’s nearly two million registered voters will turn out en masse for Tinubu.
“Ondo is Tinubu’s base. We should not settle for percentages; we should deliver in numbers,” Ijabiyi said.
He emphasized that elders remain key political influencers in their communities and will mobilize grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ijabiyi praised President Tinubu for federal appointments and infrastructure projects in Ondo State, insisting that the president’s developmental strides have earned him strong loyalty in the region.
He also encouraged party elders to go beyond organizing and mentoring younger members by engaging in constructive criticism to strengthen internal democracy.
The leader of the forum, Chief Erastus Akeju, appealed to all APC elders to support Tinubu wholeheartedly and to avoid internal clashes, especially at the grassroots level.
“Clashes at the grassroots level will definitely have an effect, and we must do everything to ensure President Tinubu wins bigger than before across the 18 local government areas of the state,” Akeju stated.
He described Tinubu as a Yoruba leader whose unity agenda must be defended by all.

Other elders echoed the need for reconciliation and called on aggrieved party members to set aside personal grievances for the overall interest of the APC ahead of the 2027 polls.
