Personnel from various security agencies have been deployed to strategic locations across the state as preparations continue for the rally, which is expected to attract party leaders, governors and supporters from across the country.
Campaign posters featuring Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani have been placed at major locations, with some carrying welcome messages ahead of the president’s anticipated arrival.
The Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are among the agencies assigned to protect campaign materials, particularly at night when they are considered vulnerable to vandalism.
Police officers and plain-clothes operatives have also been stationed along major roads and at roundabouts across the metropolis. Patrol vehicles were seen around the stadium hosting the event.
Preparations were ongoing at the Kaduna Township Stadium on Friday, with the venue repainted and decorated with APC flags ahead of the campaign flag-off.
The stadium, which has a reported capacity of 8,000, was being prepared to accommodate guests and party supporters expected to attend the rally.
Roads leading to the venue have also been decorated with campaign posters and billboards, while the stadium’s pavilions, conveniences and other facilities have been readied for the event.
Access to the premises has been restricted ahead of the gathering as preparations and security arrangements continue.
Tinubu is expected to be joined by governors from the seven North-West states, alongside other party leaders and political stakeholders.
The rally is anticipated to draw APC supporters from different parts of Nigeria as the party begins activities linked to the 2027 presidential election.
Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee and Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation for the event.
Balarabe said the committee expected a large turnout of party members and supporters from across the country.
She also described the North-West as an APC stronghold, expressing confidence in the region’s participation in the campaign flag-off.
