Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, Alancha advised President Bola Tinubu to abandon the controversial formula in the 2027 general elections.
“We are not saying there is anything wrong with Shettima, but what we are saying is that there is everything wrong with the Muslim-Muslim ticket,” Alancha stressed.
He argued that the 2023 election disenfranchised many Christians, leaving deep divisions in the political landscape.
“In the 2023 general election, there were a lot of Christians that were disenfranchised as a result of that singular Muslim-Muslim ticket,” he noted.
Alancha emphasized that his position was not a distraction but a warning to avoid polarization in the country.
“We are only advising Mr. President to pick who his running mate is in 2027. We are saying, when that time comes, do not consider Muslim-Muslim ticket,” he added.

For Alancha, steering clear of the Muslim-Muslim ticket 2027 is not just about electoral numbers but about preserving national unity and the covenant laid down by Nigeria’s founding fathers.
