She was formally received into the ruling party on Tuesday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja by the APC National Woman Leader, Dr. Mary Alile-Idele, alongside her supporters.

Present at the event was the APC Chairman for Kuje Area Council, Adamu Danladi Ibrahim. Dr. Alile-Idele welcomed Yakubu, describing her defection as a move to a “growing and forward-moving political platform” and commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its reforms, infrastructural development, empowerment programs, and student loan scheme under NELFUND.

In her remarks, Yakubu explained that her decision to leave the ADC and join the APC was voluntary, motivated by the governance, security improvements, and development achievements of the APC-led administration.

She stressed that nobody influenced her decision and that she aims to contribute to grassroots political development and national growth.

Yakubu also noted that APC is not new to her, recalling her role in the party during its formation. “I was a lost daughter, but now I am found,” she said.
