El-Rufai Makes Cryptic Remark on ADC Convention Attendance

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said he will participate “in spirit” in the national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in a remark that has drawn political attention.

El-Rufai made the comment while speaking to journalists after appearing at the Kaduna State High Court for a hearing in his ongoing case involving the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

When asked about his presence at the ADC convention scheduled for Tuesday, he responded briefly, saying, “I will be there in spirit.”

The African Democratic Congress (African Democratic Congress) is expected to hold its national convention in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen its opposition coalition structure ahead of future political realignments.

According to party officials, the event will take place at the Rainbow Event Centre in Area 11, Abuja, despite earlier uncertainty over the venue.

El-Rufai’s remark comes amid growing political activity within opposition circles, as parties and key figures reposition ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.
