Garba presented his APC membership card, obtained from Lubo Ward in Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area, to Governor Inuwa Yahaya on Thursday in Gombe.

He said the presentation symbolised his complete alignment with the ruling party at both state and national levels.

Receiving the card, Garba described it as full integration into the progressive family, adding that his decision followed consultations with political associates, supporters, and community leaders across his constituency.

He cited Governor Yahaya’s purposeful leadership, people-centred policies, ongoing infrastructure projects, social investment initiatives, and reforms aimed at improving livelihoods as key motivations.

Garba also referenced President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as further inspiration.

Garba said:

“The APC represents the future of progressive governance in Nigeria. I am convinced that under Governor Yahaya and President Tinubu, our people will continue to enjoy meaningful development.”

He pledged loyalty and total commitment to the party and assured constituents that his defection would attract greater federal presence and development projects to Yamaltu-Deba.

Responding, Governor Yahaya welcomed Garba into the APC fold, describing the defection as a strong endorsement of the party’s performance in Gombe State.

He said it validated his administration’s development-focused model, anchored on infrastructure renewal, human capital development, and economic diversification.

Yahaya added that the move would consolidate APC’s dominance in the state ahead of future elections, and reaffirmed that the party remains open to individuals committed to unity, growth, and responsible governance.
