APC membership registration reopens nationwide on August 31 as the party moves to digitise its membership records ahead of the 2027 elections
The All Progressives Congress, led by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, will reopen its electronic membership registration exercise across Nigeria on Monday, August 31, 2026, as the ruling party steps up preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC said the exercise would be conducted across all wards nationwide, giving existing members an opportunity to validate their records while allowing new and intending members to formally join the party.
Morka announced the development in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, August 25, urging party stakeholders, supporters and members to participate in the exercise.
The APC membership registration exercise is aimed at creating a more reliable and digitally accessible database as the party prepares for another major electoral cycle.
According to Morka, the initiative is designed to digitise the party’s membership register, improve the integrity of membership records and provide more efficient access to membership information.
“The E-Registration Exercise is designed to digitise the Party’s membership register, ensure the integrity of membership records, enhance efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions,” Morka said.
He added that the exercise would also promote internal democracy and strengthen the party’s commitment to democratic innovation.
The reopening comes at a politically significant period, with parties already positioning themselves for the 2027 elections.
The APC is expected to use an updated membership database to improve party administration, planning and engagement with its supporters across the country.
The party said participation would be subject to certain requirements. Registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number.
Existing APC members are also expected to validate their membership details as part of the process, while prospective members who meet the requirements can register.
The exercise represents another effort by the APC to modernise its internal structures and establish a comprehensive membership record ahead of the next general election.

The party’s latest move also comes amid heightened political activity surrounding the 2027 presidential and other electoral contests, making accurate membership records increasingly important for mobilisation and internal party processes.
