The Minister made the remarks on Wednesday in Maiduguri during a courtesy visit to Borno State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Isa Kadafur. His visit was part of activities marking the All Progressives Congress Commissioners of Information Forum.

According to a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Rabiu Ibrahim, the Minister said:

“Borno State is clearly Nigeria’s most resilient state, against the backdrop of the severe challenges it has experienced in the last decade.”

Idris commended the people of Borno for their enduring spirit, describing them as a symbol of the nation’s collective strength and perseverance.

“The people of Borno State symbolise the strength and staying power that Nigerians are imbued with.

It is therefore appropriate for all other Nigerians to not only praise the citizens of the state but speak proudly of their ability to overcome challenges,” he stated.

The Minister emphasised that Borno’s recovery from years of insurgency has become a powerful example of community resilience, unity, and commitment to rebuilding lives and infrastructure.

The visit reinforced the Federal Government’s recognition of Borno’s continued recovery efforts. It also highlighted the administration’s commitment to national orientation, social cohesion, and the celebration of shared progress, particularly in states that have faced significant adversity.
