Bola Tinubu road approval excites Ekiti residents

Bola Tinubu road approval sparks optimism in Ekiti as two major federal roads get repair nod, boosting trade and connectivity across the state.

Bola Tinubu road approval has stirred optimism across Ekiti State as the President approved the repair of two more federal roads — the Itawure–Aramoko–Ado Ekiti and Aramoko–Ijero–Ifaki Ekiti routes.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, announced the approval in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the projects will be included in the Federal Government’s 2026 budget.

According to Oyebode, a letter confirming the approval has been dispatched from the Office of the President to the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, with Governor Oyebanji duly copied.

He explained that when completed, the two newly approved roads will significantly ease travel, enhance regional connectivity, and boost commercial activities across Ekiti and adjoining states. “These strategic interventions will open the state to greater economic opportunities and development,” Oyebode added.

The Bola Tinubu road approval followed a visit by Governor Oyebanji and Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on November 9, 2025. During the meeting, they highlighted the poor state of key federal roads in Ekiti and sought urgent attention.

Oyebode also addressed public concern and misinformation surrounding the condition of some federal routes, particularly the Itawure–Aramoko–Ado Ekiti Road, assuring residents that work was already being prioritised.

The Tinubu-led administration has previously awarded contracts for three other major roads in Ekiti — including the Akure–Ikere–Ado Ekiti Road and the Ifaki–Oye–Ikole–Omuo Ekiti Road — with contractors already mobilised to site.

Governor Oyebanji’s administration has also completed the Ado–Iworoko–Ifaki Road and numerous inter- and intra-city road projects over the last three years, underscoring its commitment to infrastructure development.

On behalf of the people of Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu “for his strategic intervention in the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the state, as well as his unwavering support.”
