Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has declared that there is no “rainbow coalition” in the state, insisting that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will work together to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The governor made the statement on Tuesday during the distribution of campaign vehicles under the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Owerri.
Uzodimma warned members of the movement that the vehicles would be withdrawn if used for activities outside the APC.
“There is no rainbow coalition in Imo State,” he said. “You are members of the APC. If I see you walk outside APC, I will collect the vehicle from you. You are empowered to work for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our All Progressives Congress.”
The governor expressed confidence that Imo State would deliver organic votes for the President, based on the performance of his administration.
He urged supporters to back APC candidates at all levels, including the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship and the presidency.
Uzodimma described the APC as the only party the people of Imo could trust, adding that the votes expected from the state would come from citizens who had seen the impact of federal government policies.
The remarks come amid discussions around cross-party efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election, with the governor making it clear that Imo remains firmly within the APC fold.
