Ade Adetimehin urges unity for APC victory

The state chairman has urged party members to close ranks and work collectively to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and the APC at all levels.

Speaking in Akure on Sunday, Adetimehin noted that the party’s growing popularity was a direct result of the Tinubu administration’s performance.

He maintained that unity, discipline, and strategic organisation would be essential to sustaining the party’s momentum across the state.

The Ondo APC chairman made the appeal just two days after receiving hundreds of defectors from the Action Alliance, led by its state chairman, Comrade Alfred Akinuli. According to Adetimehin, the party’s internal mechanisms and robust grassroots structure made it capable of integrating new members without crisis.

“Our party has the capacity to absorb as many members as possible because there’s an established mechanism for running it,” he said. “But what we need most now is unity and hard work to win the state for President Bola Tinubu.”

He emphasised that politics must begin at the polling unit, describing true leadership as the ability to deliver one’s unit during elections. “Once you can deliver your unit, you are a true leader,” he added confidently.

In his remarks, Akinuli said the mass defection followed wide consultations among stakeholders, explaining that the group decided to align with President Tinubu’s progressive ideology and vision for national development.

“We decided to join the APC because we believe this is the time to move forward, particularly in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Akinuli said. “The best way to deliver massive votes is to join forces with the APC.”

The Ade Adetimehin unity call comes at a time when several opposition figures in Ondo State, including a serving House of Representatives member, Festus Akingbaso, have defected to the ruling party.
