ADA accuses INEC of failing to register the party despite meeting all requirements and completing physical verification across all states
The All Democratic Alliance has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of failing to register the party despite meeting all statutory requirements, alleging administrative opacity and bias in the process.

Umar Ardo, a key promoter of the ADA, made the allegation on Tuesday during an interview.
He said the party had submitted all necessary documents and paid the required administrative fees but was excluded from INEC’s final registration list.
“INEC did not register any of the associations, not one. Out of 172 applications, only 14 were shortlisted, and we were among the eight pre-qualified for the final stage,” Mr Ardo said.
Mr Ardo added that ADA had completed physical verification of its offices, which he said were well-equipped and fully compliant with legal requirements.
The party claimed representation in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, exceeding the minimum threshold required by law.
He criticised INEC for failing to issue public updates or communicate further information regarding the registration process, suggesting that the lack of transparency was deliberate.
“They never posted anything on their website, because it knows that public opinion will be highly against it,” he said.

The ADA promoter described the situation as a breach of due process and called for greater transparency from the electoral body in handling new party registrations.
