Their visit, which was made public through a post by Lere Olayinka, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, comes amid ongoing political tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where Wike remains a divisive figure.
Although details of their meeting with Tinubu were not disclosed, the visit is seen as part of the ongoing show of support for Wike, who continues to enjoy the backing of some PDP heavyweights despite his controversial alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Former Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who was not at the State House, is also said to be aligned with Wike’s political stance, particularly his open support for Tinubu’s administration and the President’s commissioning of 17 projects in the FCT.

At a recent stakeholders meeting, Ortom praised Tinubu’s decision to appoint Wike as minister, stating that the PDP should reflect on its mistakes and recognise that political power ultimately belongs to God.
“Thank you for not disappointing us because through your works, you have demonstrated that PDP has capacity to deliver and you have delivered,” Ortom said, adding that the party must now wait prayerfully for another opportunity to lead.
