The affected states are Borno, Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobe, Ekiti, Bayelsa, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Delta, Taraba, Kano, and Lagos.
The faction also announced that its state congresses would be held on 9 January, while a date for its national convention will be communicated later.
In a communique issued at the end of its National Working Caretaker Committee meeting, the faction dismissed claims by the Tanimu Turaki-led group of its recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission as false, asserting that there is only one legitimate PDP, headed by Honorable Abdulrahman Mohammed.
The communique also appointed key officers for the faction, including Professor Adenike Ogunse as Women Leader, Engineer Deji Dohaty as Deputy National Secretary, Senator Olaka Ogunwu as Treasurer, Jungu Haruna Mohammed as Publicity Secretary, and Ambassador Ibrahim Bala-Aboki as Youth Leader.
The Turaki-led faction has continued to criticise the government for normalising governance anomalies.
National Publicity Secretary Comrade Ini Ememobong said the administration has repeatedly treated serious issues with levity, citing discrepancies in the Tax Act between the parliamentary version and the gazetted copy.
He called for a comprehensive investigation into the discrepancies and urged the House of Representatives to shift the commencement date of the Act from 1 January 2026 by at least six months, allowing time for investigation, publication, and public enlightenment campaigns.
