Magnus Ngei Abe, born May 24, 1965, is a prominent Nigerian politician and lawyer from Rivers State.
He is a former Senator for the Rivers South-East Senatorial District, serving two terms, first elected in 2011 and again in a rerun poll in 2016.
Abe’s extensive political career began in 1999 when he was elected into the Rivers State House of Assembly, where he served as Minority Leader.
He later held key executive positions in Rivers State, including Commissioner for Information and Secretary to the State Government during the Peter Odili administration.
Initially a member of the PDP, he later defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and most recently to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in his gubernatorial aspirations.
President Bola Tinubu recently appointed him as the board chairman of the National Agency for the Great Green Walls, highlighting his continued relevance in national affairs.
