Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki is a prominent Nigerian politician who served as the 13th President of the Senate of Nigeria from 2015 to 2019.
Prior to his Senate Presidency, he was the Governor of Kwara State for two terms, from 2003 to 2011, where he initiated significant reforms in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure, notably the Shonga Farms programme.
As Senate President, he presided over the passage of a record number of bills, including landmark legislation like the “Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill” and efforts to strengthen anti-corruption laws.
A medical doctor by training, Saraki has consistently been a key figure in national politics, known for his strategic acumen and influence in Kwara and beyond.
