The governor made the remarks on Tuesday during the announcement of the SWC election results in Jalingo.
Kefas commended the peaceful conduct of the party’s state congress, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening the APC in Taraba.
He advised the new leadership to be fair, transparent, and engage with grassroots members to attract wider participation.
“Unity is key to building a formidable party,” Kefas said, assuring the SWC members of his administration’s support.
He further urged them to “discharge their responsibilities with fairness and commitment” to ensure inclusiveness within the party.
Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, the immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emerged as state chairman of the APC through consensus following consultations.
Bawa had joined Governor Kefas and the ruling APC during a mega rally in Jalingo on February 2, attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Governor Kefas encouraged all APC members to remain united and supportive of the new leadership, stressing that the SWC would work to reposition the party in Taraba ahead of next year’s general election.
