In a statement issued in Osogbo on Wednesday, the state chairman of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Mr Idirs Adeniran, declared that the action was in response to the government’s continued failure to honour previous agreements.
The union cited non-payment of impress, 2015 statutory allowances, and unaddressed staff promotions, alongside outstanding 2024 and 2025 entitlements, as key grievances behind the industrial action.
JUSUN previously suspended a similar strike on June 4, following deliberations with representatives of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and other stakeholders.
However, the union says the state government has failed to implement the signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
“We appeal to all stakeholders in the judiciary to support JUSUN in this matter for swift action,” the statement read.
“The judiciary’s role as the last hope of the common man cannot be fulfilled without motivated staff members and adequate resources.”
Among the union’s renewed demands are the full implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage and its arrears, a 25/35 per cent salary increment, and five months’ wage award arrears.
The union also urged the Judiciary Service Commission (JSC) to intervene in matters of pending promotions, allowance restoration, staff training sponsorship, and the provision of official and utility vehicles to enhance judicial service delivery.
Despite past engagements, JUSUN expressed hope that this renewed strike would lead to meaningful dialogue and real action from the state authorities.

If unresolved, the union warned that it could escalate the action beyond a warning strike.
