Delta State Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructure Development, Chief Ebikeme Clark, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the completion of internal road projects in Kantu and Ijaghala communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom.
Clark said the projects were transforming the infrastructure landscape of the riverine communities and improving access for residents.
The commissioner’s remarks came as the state government continued its road construction programme across riverine communities, where difficult terrain and waterways have historically created challenges for transportation and infrastructure development.
The completed roads in Kantu and Ijaghala are expected to improve movement within the communities and provide residents with better access to homes, businesses and other essential facilities.
Clark described the development as a significant improvement for Gbaramatu Kingdom, noting that the administration had demonstrated a commitment to extending infrastructure development to riverine areas.
The projects form part of wider efforts by the state government to open up coastal and riverine communities through improved road networks. Earlier in the year, the state government announced major road projects aimed at improving connectivity across such areas.
The development is particularly significant for communities that have long faced transportation difficulties because of their riverine location.
With the completion of the Kantu and Ijaghala internal roads, residents are expected to benefit from easier movement and improved connectivity within the communities.
Clark’s commendation adds to growing attention on the Oborevwori administration’s riverine infrastructure programme as the Delta State Government continues to expand road development beyond the state’s major urban centres.
