Interim National Chairman David Mark gave the assurance during a strategic meeting with state chairmen and stakeholders in Abuja.
At the meeting, held at Mark’s residence, the party’s leadership dismissed claims of imposition and internal sabotage.
National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola and spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi reiterated that all state chapters remain vital partners in the process.
“We have invited all the state chairmen to reassure them. We are not here to shove anyone aside,” Abdullahi stated. “They are partners in building a stronger political party.”
The gathering was attended by 37 state chairmen, including the FCT, alongside key figures like former governors Liyel Imoke and Aminu Tambuwal, and PDP stalwart Kola Ologbondiyan.
Their presence signalled widespread buy-in for the opposition coalition 2027 election effort.
Abdullahi also addressed criticisms from former ADC presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu, who had earlier dismissed the legitimacy of the interim leadership.
“A presidential candidate is not an officer of the party,” he said. “We are on solid legal ground.”
Kingsley Ogga, chairman of the ADC Forum and Kogi State Chairman, reinforced this sentiment, saying the process had been inclusive from the outset.
“We sat down together and deliberated. That’s how we reached this point,” Ogga said.
During a parallel engagement in Akure, Aregbesola urged party members to prioritise unity and common purpose.
“Let’s put personal interests aside. We can’t win unless we are united,” he said.
He added that the opposition coalition 2027 election strategy had the backing of key opposition figures including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and former Senate President David Mark.
Aregbesola stressed that the coalition’s goal was nothing less than the defeat of the APC at all levels—presidency, National Assembly, and state houses.
Gbenga Edema, the NNPP candidate for the Ondo governorship poll, said the meeting helped clarify the coalition’s agenda.
“Aregbesola gave us insight into the strategy. It was much needed,” he said.
Former PDP chieftain Akin Akinbobola praised the coalition’s urgency, stating that Nigeria was in dire need of redemption. “The country is sinking. We must act now,” he said.
With its internal ranks now seemingly aligned and state chairmen reaffirming their roles, the ADC’s involvement in the opposition coalition 2027 election appears to be gathering momentum.
