Okpebholo appoints Kasimu Otono as new Oil and Gas Adviser following the suspension of Felix Isere over unauthorised fundraising for Edo’s oil and gas summit
Okpebholo appoints Kasimu Otono as the new Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, following the suspension of Felix Isere over allegations of unauthorised fundraising in the name of the Edo State Government.

The appointment was announced on Friday via a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor.
According to the statement, Otono replaces Isere, who was suspended on Tuesday after it emerged that he solicited funds ahead of a proposed Oil and Gas Summit scheduled for August 7 in Benin City without government approval.
“Barr. Kasimu Otono, who replaces the suspended immediate-past Special Adviser, Mr. Felix Isere, is a legal practitioner, real estate entrepreneur, philanthropist and community mobiliser,” the statement said.
Otono is a member of both the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association and serves as Senior Partner at Kay and Kay Legal, with expertise in commercial, real estate, and oil and gas law.

Governor Okpebholo has directed Isere to refund all funds collected and cautioned the public against further dealings with him.
