Oshiomhole made the remarks on Friday during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, where he was asked about criticism of Tinubu’s absence from some APC campaign activities.
The former Edo State governor argued that Tinubu has responsibilities beyond party rallies, stressing that his position as President requires him to focus on running the country.
According to him, the President’s absence from campaign grounds should not be interpreted as a sign that he has abandoned the ruling party.
“Tinubu need not attend every APC rally. The President has a country to run. Being absent at rallies does not mean he is not with the party. He is working for Nigerians,” Oshiomhole said.
He added that APC governors and other party leaders were capable of representing the President at rallies and campaign events.
Oshiomhole’s comments come amid criticism from opposition parties, which have questioned Tinubu’s absence from some APC political gatherings.

The senator maintained that the President’s national responsibilities should be taken into consideration when assessing his participation in party activities.
