Kaduna Governor Urges Unity at 2025 Christmas Carol

Kaduna Governor Uba Sani attended the 2025 Christmas Carol, urging unity, peace, and shared values among residents across the state

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani on Sunday called for unity and peaceful coexistence among residents as he attended the 2025 Unity Christmas Carol organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria in partnership with the state government.

The event took place at the Umaru Yar’Adua Conference Centre in Kaduna and was attended by leaders of various Christian denominations, government officials, and worshippers from across the state.

Prayers were offered for peace and development, while choirs from different churches performed traditional Christmas songs throughout the programme.

Governor Uba Sani said his attendance honoured a promise made in 2024 to participate in future editions of the Christmas Carol until the conclusion of his tenure.

“This is the third time I am sharing in this sacred moment with the Christian family in our dear state,” he said, describing faith as “one of the most enduring bridges to unity, healing and collective progress in our society.”

He added that Christmas represents values such as love, sacrifice, humility, compassion and selfless service, which transcend religious boundaries.

“Christmas challenges us not merely to rejoice, but to live differently; to become better neighbours, fairer leaders and more compassionate citizens,” Sani said.

The governor emphasised that his attendance reflected “choice, conviction and commitment,” noting that such gatherings renew hope and strengthen shared values among the people.

Uba Sani commended religious leaders and Christians in Kaduna State for sustaining peace.

“In moments of tension and uncertainty, you chose restraint over reaction, dialogue over division, unity over suspicion and peace over provocation,” he said, noting that these choices were shaping a hopeful present and laying the foundation for a secure and harmonious future.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements, the governor said 85 roads covering 785 kilometres had been completed or were nearing completion in the first phase of road projects, while over 50 additional roads and bridges spanning more than 550 kilometres were launched in the second phase.

He also stated that 255 Primary Health Care Centres had been upgraded to Level Two status, a 300-bed specialist hospital named after President Bola Tinubu had been commissioned, and agriculture now receives over 10 per cent of the state’s annual budget.
