Delta North APC urges Yilwatda to introduce transparent harmonisation and include founding members after Oborevwori joined the APC
The Delta North All Progressives Congress Coalition for Equity has called on the national leadership of the APC to introduce a transparent and inclusive harmonisation process to ensure fair integration of long-standing party members in Delta State.

The appeal was made in a communiqué issued after the Coalition’s Expanded General Stakeholders Meeting held on Monday in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
The communiqué was signed by the Chairman of the Coalition, Barrister Alex Ikpeazu, and the Secretary General, Honourable Kemmer B. Emina.
Delegates and representatives from all nine local government areas of the Delta North Senatorial District attended the meeting.
The coalition expressed concern over what it described as the growing marginalisation of foundational APC members following recent political developments in the state.
The group acknowledged and welcomed the defection of Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC, describing the move as strengthening the ruling party in the state.
However, the coalition warned that party unity must be built on fairness, loyalty and inclusion.
According to the communiqué, most government appointments and key decision-making positions are currently dominated by the governor’s former PDP political structure, leaving out many APC members who remained loyal during the party’s years in opposition.
“These foundational members stood by the APC through intimidation, repeated electoral losses and political isolation,” the coalition said, adding that the situation has caused widespread dissatisfaction at the grassroots.
The coalition said the exclusion contradicts the principles of equity, inclusiveness and reward for loyalty promoted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The group called for urgent corrective measures to prevent internal discontent and strengthen party cohesion in the state.
It urged the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, to introduce a transparent harmonisation framework that ensures fair inclusion of founding APC members in government appointments, boards and agencies.
The coalition also called for balanced integration of the governor’s political structure with the existing APC machinery in Delta State.
It further demanded that the next APC State Chairmanship position be zoned to the Delta North Senatorial District and occupied by a long-standing party member, noting that Delta South and Delta Central had produced past and current state chairmen.
The coalition also asked for formal involvement in discussions and decisions affecting appointments and party restructuring in the Delta North.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to the success of the APC in Delta State and nationally but said lasting stability and electoral success would only be achieved through fairness, mutual respect and inclusive governance.
