Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq launches APC e-registration, urging inclusivity and full participation for accurate membership tally

AbdulRazaq described APC as the biggest political party in Africa and the best to govern Nigeria.

Documented as the first registrant in the state, the governor said the exercise aims to strengthen the party and ensure an accurate membership tally for planning.

He emphasised that all aspirants to political offices in 2027 would be given a level playing field.

“It is important that we know how many of us are members of this exclusive club, which is arguably the biggest party in Africa. This is the only party to develop Nigeria and all the states in Nigeria, including all local governments,” AbdulRazaq said.

He urged party officials to ensure no prospective member is excluded and called on citizens to present their National Identity Number (NIN) during registration.

“We need all the members we can get. Make sure you register, not just our members; you should go out and canvass for new members,” the governor said.

AbdulRazaq highlighted the progress made by his administration, citing developments across sectors that have made Kwara State more viable than ever.

He called on party leaders to use these achievements as a campaign weapon to ensure the baton is handed to another APC government in 2027.

State APC Chairman Prince Sunday Fagbemi praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s performance, noting that defections from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) signal a smooth path for the ruling party in 2027.

He stressed the importance of the e-registration for achieving accurate party membership figures ahead of upcoming congresses.

“The e-registration will enable us to give real figures. In the last elections, members of the APC were said to be 40 million. When the elections came, we got 19 million. Somebody must be deceiving himself,” Fagbemi said.
