The comments follow remarks by ADC Interim National Chairman, David Mark, who called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio to refrain from speaking on behalf of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, regarding the electronic transmission of election results.
Mark urged Akpabio and the Senate to allow lawmakers to pass relevant legislation while leaving decisions on electronic result transmission to INEC, highlighting public demand for transparency in the electoral process.
Reacting in Abuja, Momodu praised Mark’s intervention and took to X to offer guidance to politicians.
“Thank you sir, our ADC Chairman, Brigadier General David Mark (rtd.), for your brilliant intervention,” Momodu wrote.
“My personal advice to our politicians is: Don’t allow anyone’s personal ambition lead you to hell fire. Promote transparent democratic tenets and ideals.”
Political observers noted that Momodu’s statement underscores growing concerns about safeguarding electoral integrity and curbing self-serving manoeuvres in Nigeria’s political landscape.
