PDP forms caretaker committee to manage Abia State party affairs ahead of 2027 elections for 90 days or until new executives are elected
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has established a caretaker committee to manage its affairs in Abia State ahead of the 2027 elections.

The National Working Committee, NWC, acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee, NEC, approved the committee in accordance with Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (2025 as amended).
In a statement issued on Monday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, named the committee members: Mr. Ikpegbu Emeka-Yellow as Chairman; Chief Ochiobi Fidel Chukwuemeka, Engr. Gladys Okoro, Chief Chijindu Kalu, Samuel Chukwudi Mike, Seth Agomuo, Mrs. Ugo Kalu, and Obinna Nwaogwugwu as members; and Felix Nwagbara as Secretary.
The committee is mandated to manage party affairs in Abia State according to Section 21(2)(a–b) of the PDP Constitution.
Its tenure will not exceed 90 days or last until a new state executive is elected.
The party emphasized that committee members are expected to discharge their duties in line with the PDP Constitution, the Electoral Act 2022, and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).

The PDP expressed confidence that the caretaker committee will work diligently to stabilize and reposition the party in Abia State ahead of the 2027 elections.
