The appeal was made following a motion raised by Abdulrashid Mu’azu, who represents the Lere/Bula Constituency.
He described the road as a crucial economic and social link, connecting several communities to markets, schools, and healthcare services.
According to Mu’azu, the current condition of the road has severely hindered development. “Its deplorable state has crippled socio-economic activities, leaving many communities isolated,” he said during the House’s plenary session.
The Bauchi lawmakers road appeal gained further momentum when Barrister Habibu Umar of Kirfi Constituency seconded the motion.
In support, Musa Wakili Nakwada from Bogoro Constituency praised the proposal, stating that rural residents would be the main beneficiaries of such a long-overdue project.
The legislators called on the state executive arm, led by Governor Bala Mohammed, to consider the request urgently and allocate resources for the construction of the road. The project is expected to improve access to essential services and promote local economic growth.
The Bauchi lawmakers road appeal comes amid growing calls across the state for infrastructural development, especially in underserved rural communities.
Many see the motion as a positive step towards addressing long-standing infrastructure deficits.
