Atiku camp ADC presidential ticket row deepens as spokesperson Paul Ibe says only delegates will decide 2027 candidate, slams Tinubu’s failed leadership
Atiku camp ADC presidential ticket row is gaining momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, as Paul Ibe, spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, declared that only party delegates will determine the party’s presidential flag bearer.

In a statement posted on Facebook Wednesday, Ibe emphasized that despite the rising number of aspirants, it’s the delegates’ democratic right to choose who emerges.
“There’s nothing wrong in all of them wanting to be president,” Ibe noted.
“The delegates of the party will, at the appropriate time, determine who will be the presidential candidate. That is DEMOCRACY as opposed to Tinubu’s DICTATORSHIP — at work.”
Amid ongoing speculation and internal friction within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ibe dismissed fears of division, describing political ambition as natural in a democratic system.
He also criticized President Bola Tinubu, calling his administration “a monumental failure.”
“The ADC coalition leaders are angry with the mess Tinubu has made of Nigeria,” Ibe wrote.
“The material condition of the average citizen has deteriorated… food prices are unbearable… even minimum wage can’t buy a bag of rice.”
He accused the government of allowing insecurity to spiral out of control, blaming the president for the rising influence of terrorists, kidnappers, and bandits.
