APC Kebbi State Expects Victory Amid Opposition Crisis

APC Kebbi Opposition Crisis Kebbi State deepens as ruling party says PDP and ADC turmoil may boost its chances ahead of 2027 elections

The All Progressives Congress, All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State has said it expects to benefit politically from the ongoing internal crises affecting opposition parties in the state ahead of future elections.

APC spokesperson, Issa Abubakar-Asalafi stated that divisions within the Peoples Democratic Party, Peoples Democratic Party, and the African Democratic Congress, African Democratic Congress, could further weaken opposition strength and trigger additional defections to the ruling party.

According to Abubakar-Asalafi, the APC is closely monitoring developments, noting that continued disputes within opposition ranks may undermine their electoral competitiveness.

He referenced recent political shifts in the state, including the defection of the PDP’s 2023 governorship candidate Aminu Bande to the ADC, alongside ongoing factional disagreements within the ADC over leadership control.

The APC spokesperson further claimed that all three senators previously elected under the PDP in Kebbi State, as well as members of the House of Representatives, have since joined the ruling party, describing the trend as evidence of growing confidence in APC leadership.

Abubakar-Asalafi maintained that “politics is a game of numbers,” stressing that opposition parties must resolve internal conflicts if they hope to mount a serious challenge in future elections.

He added that the APC remains confident of consolidating its dominance in Kebbi State and securing a strong performance in the 2027 general elections.

The remarks underscore rising political realignments in Kebbi State, where defections and internal party disputes continue to reshape the local political landscape.
