Al-Makura Slams Sule Over Nasarawa Succession Move

Al-Makura criticises Abdullahi Sule for endorsing Aliyu Wadada early, calling the Nasarawa succession move premature and improper

Al-Makura made the remarks during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television, where he raised concerns about the absence of clear guidelines from the All Progressives Congress All Progressives Congress for selecting governorship candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

He argued that Governor Sule’s endorsement process lacked proper consultation with key stakeholders, warning that such actions could undermine fairness and internal democracy within the party.

“At this stage, when the party has yet to release its selection guidelines, it’s a little too hasty,” Al-Makura said. “This is a violation of the process, especially when there has been no proper consultation with key stakeholders.”

Governor Abdullahi Sule had earlier endorsed Senator Aliyu Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West in the Senate, following consultations within and outside the state.

He later presented Wadada to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a visit to Abuja, reaffirming his preference for the 2027 governorship race.

Despite the endorsement, Al-Makura maintained that while party leaders have the right to support candidates, such actions must follow established procedures to ensure inclusivity and fairness in the political process.
