Ajibola Basiru APC opposition crisis remarks as party secretary urges opposition groups to stop blaming APC for internal disputes
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, has dismissed claims that the ruling party is responsible for crises within opposition parties, urging political groups to take responsibility for their internal affairs.

Ajibola Basiru made the remarks on Wednesday during a media chat, where he addressed concerns that the APC interferes in the operations and disputes of opposition parties.
He insisted that there is no evidence linking the APC to the internal challenges facing other political organisations, adding that most disputes stem from poor internal management and disregard for due process.
According to Ajibola Basiru, opposition parties often escalate their own disagreements, sometimes conducting parallel leadership exercises despite existing court orders.
“Stop blaming APC for internal party crises. Political parties must look inward and manage their affairs within the framework of the law,” he said.
He further argued that political stability within parties depends on adherence to legal procedures and respect for judicial rulings, warning that ignoring such processes undermines democracy.
Ajibola Basiru maintained that the APC remains committed to operating within the law and respecting democratic institutions, including the judiciary.
