Adelabu denies Tinubu Olubadan endorsement Oyo claims, insisting no candidate has been endorsed ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State
All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, has dismissed reports suggesting that President Bola Tinubu and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, have endorsed any candidate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Adelabu denies Tinubu Olubadan endorsement Oyo clarification was made on Thursday in Ibadan, shortly after the former Minister of Power returned from Abuja, where he met with party stakeholders.
Adelabu described the reports as false and misleading, urging APC members and supporters to disregard claims of any consensus candidate already endorsed by political or traditional authorities.
He stressed that President Bola Tinubu remains focused on national responsibilities and would not interfere in individual state-level political contests.
According to him, the President had advised party stakeholders in Oyo State to either reach a consensus among aspirants or proceed to direct primaries if agreement proves impossible.
Adelabu noted that the directive was aimed at ensuring fairness and internal democracy within the party, rather than imposing any preferred candidate.
He also dismissed claims that the Olubadan of Ibadanland had endorsed any aspirant, describing such reports as unfounded and inconsistent with the monarch’s role as a father to all.
Adelabu further reiterated his commitment to the governorship race, having recently stepped down as Minister of Power to concentrate fully on his political ambition.
He pledged that, if elected, his administration would prioritise inclusive governance and focus on improving the welfare of residents across Oyo State, particularly the poor and vulnerable.

The aspirant maintained that his political ambition is driven by service rather than personal gain, promising a people-centred approach to governance if given the mandate in 2027.
