Tinubu 2027 election victory is certain, Ondo senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire told supporters in Akure, citing reserves, bye-elections and party unity
On Monday, 21 September 2026, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, who represents Ondo Central, told journalists at Akure Airport that President Bola Tinubu would win the Tinubu 2027 election fixed for 20 February, after hundreds of All Progressives Congress members met his flight.

Adeniyi Adegbonmire said post-primary fights in some states would not stop the APC, and that those fights would be settled before polling day.
“So, we are going to win. In fact, we have no opposition. I can tell that for free. So, I have absolutely no fear at all. I don’t know about any aggrieved member that is in any coalition. I don’t know about it. I always tell people, nobody does anti-party; nobody has come out to say he wants to do anti-party,” he said. “When I won three years ago, there were aggrieved people. But I still won the election. So It’s natural there will be fallout out of the primaries. But at the end of the day, we will win as a party.”
He said Bola Tinubu had pulled the country from collapse. He mocked a rival pledge to restore fuel subsidy and asked whether unpaid salaries with cheap petrol were better than paid work and dearer fuel.
He said some states could not meet payroll before 2023 and that Ondo’s governor now spoke of a bridge worth more than ₦100 billion. “When we got to power in 2023, Nigeria was technically bankrupt. Now, we have over $54 billion in foreign reserves. Somebody has achieved that in three years. It’s a record. So, let’s be factual. Let’s not be emotional.”

Adeniyi Adegbonmire said hardship was real. “I recognise the fact that people are going through hard times. But the reality of it is that this administration is trying to make Nigeria a better place.” He said fuel queues had gone and that some farmers had lately complained prices were too low for profit. He pointed to Saturday’s bye-elections, in which the APC won four of five seats, with the Allied Peoples Movement taking Sakwa in Bauchi. “That tells you. What will happen in January and February. We will win. From President to House of Assembly.”
