The ADC Rivers governorship primaries are being conducted using the Option A4 voting system, with members of the party’s National Election Committee deployed to supervise the exercise across the state.
Party officials confirmed that the process is being monitored at ward level to ensure compliance with internal electoral guidelines and orderly participation of delegates.
Ahead of the commencement of voting, governorship aspirants held a consultation meeting where political realignments emerged, including the withdrawal of two out of the seven contestants.
Among those who stepped down was Henry Ugboma, alongside another aspirant, both of whom reportedly declared support for Gabriel Pidomson, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly and former Secretary to the State Government.
The development has reshaped early dynamics within the ADC Rivers governorship primaries, as support appears to consolidate around select frontline aspirants.
Other candidates still in the race include Sokonte Davies, Farah Dagogo, Leloonu Nwibubasa and Allen Hart, who continue to contest for the party’s governorship ticket across the state.
