Sarafadeen Alli has won the Oyo APC governorship primary with 578,143 votes, defeating Adebayo Adelabu amid allegations of irregularities
Oyo South Senator Sarafadeen Alli has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Oyo State, securing a decisive victory over former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu and other aspirants.

Alli polled 578,143 votes to defeat Adelabu, who scored 19,193 votes, alongside another contender in the closely watched party primary.
The contest drew significant attention after Adelabu, who resigned from his ministerial position to pursue the governorship ticket, raised concerns over the conduct of the election.
Speaking to journalists shortly after voting in his ward, Adelabu alleged that the exercise was marred by irregularities and manipulation in several areas.
He claimed that there were widespread incidents of misconduct across multiple wards, including claims that voting processes were conducted ahead of schedule in some locations.
Adelabu further alleged that results were pre-written in certain areas, describing the process as inconsistent with democratic standards.
Despite the allegations, the APC declared Alli as the winner following the collation of results from across the state.

The outcome sets the stage for further political realignments within the party as preparations continue ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
