Ayo Arise Senate ambition gathers momentum as former lawmaker buys APC forms and pledges service-driven representation ahead of 2026 primaries

ABUJA, Nigeria, 1 May 2026: Former Senate Committee Chairman on Privatisation, Ayo Arise, on Friday, 1 May 2026, formally acquired the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms in Abuja, marking a significant step in the Ayo Arise Senate ambition ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for 22 May 2026.

Ayo Arise, who previously represented Ekiti North Senatorial District between 2007 and 2011, expressed strong confidence in his chances of securing the party ticket while speaking to journalists shortly after obtaining the forms.

He stated that the Ayo Arise Senate ambition was rooted in a continued desire to serve and build on his past legislative record.

The former senator disclosed that he had recently embarked on a statewide consultation tour across all 56 wards in Ekiti North Senatorial District, engaging party leaders and supporters as part of his mobilisation strategy.

He also revealed that approximately 7,000 canvassers had been deployed to strengthen grassroots outreach in support of his political return.

Ayo Arise described his renewed bid as a service-driven mission rather than a pursuit of personal gain, stating that his motivation stemmed from a desire to further alleviate hardship and expand development opportunities for constituents.

He highlighted his previous achievements in the Senate, including lobbying for the establishment of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as well as infrastructure projects such as health centres, libraries, and community utilities across the senatorial district. He argued that these interventions underscored the credibility behind his Ayo Arise Senate ambition.

Ayo Arise further called on APC members to remain united and focused ahead of the forthcoming governorship and 2027 general elections, insisting that political engagement should translate into tangible benefits for the electorate.
