APC chieftain Eze Chukwuemeka Eze says there is no basis to compare Rotimi Amaechi and Nyesom Wike after Sara-Igbe’s remarks
A chieftain of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has criticised Rivers elder statesman Anabs Sara-Igbe for comparing former Rivers governors Rotimi Amaechi and Nyesom Wike.

Eze said there was no basis for such comparison, arguing that Amaechi’s contributions to the development, peace and unity of Rivers State and the Niger Delta region have earned him a favourable place in history.
Sara-Igbe had earlier pointed out differences between the two political figures, particularly in attracting federal appointments for associates.
He suggested that Wike, currently Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has secured several opportunities for individuals aligned with him.
Reacting, Eze described the comparison as “attention-seeking” and said history cannot be rewritten. According to him, comparing Amaechi and Wike is like comparing “light and darkness,” insisting that both leaders have different political records.
He also noted that Wike once served as Chief of Staff to Amaechi when the latter was governor of Rivers State.
Eze added that Amaechi also nominated Wike to former President Goodluck Jonathan for appointment as Minister of State for Education.

According to Eze, Wike’s political rise was partly made possible through Amaechi’s support during his early career.
