National Vice Chairman of the Southwest zone, Honourable Rahman Owokoniran, made the announcement during the zonal executive meeting held in Ibadan.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the Ekiti governorship election for 20 June and the Osun poll for 8 August 2026.
Owokoniran emphasised the party’s commitment to broad membership registration, mobilisation, and expansion of its support base across the region.
He assured stakeholders that all members would be treated equally, with no preferential treatment, while the party’s executives pledged to deploy all available resources to secure electoral success in both states.
The zonal leadership highlighted plans for rigorous campaign activities, polling unit monitoring, and solid security arrangements before, during, and after the elections.
Party chairmen from across the Southwest reported progress in membership mobilisation, registration, and revalidation, noting challenges with the availability of membership cards.
Alhaji Yinka Olona, Oyo State chairman, Dr Charles Omidiji, Osun State chairman, Honourable Rotimi George Taylor, deputy national financial secretary, and Dr Babatunde Oke, national director of communication and programmes, urged members to collaborate effectively, work as a cohesive team, and maximise voter turnout.
