NNPP Kano dissolution stands, party dismisses court reversal reports as false and vows legal action if injunction confirmed
The New Nigeria People’s Party has confirmed that the dissolution of its Kano State executives at all levels remains in effect and cannot be overturned by any court order, according to a statement issued on Thursday by National Publicity Secretary Ladipo Johnson.

The announcement followed media reports that a Kano State High Court had allegedly reversed the party’s executive committee dissolutions at state, local government, and ward levels.
Johnson described the purported reversal as “an ordinary street rumour,” noting that the party had not been served with any court process.
He said reports suggested that Justice Nasiru Saminu granted an ex-parte interim injunction on Tuesday, but the NNPP leadership has not received any official court documents.
Johnson added that any confirmed court action attempting to override the party’s internal decisions would be inconsistent with legal procedures and precedents.
He explained that the Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that political party affairs are non-justiciable, meaning internal party matters are outside judicial authority.
Johnson said, “We still regard the whole orchestration as a mere rumour. But if this is confirmed, we will take firm legal measures and ensure that the purported illegal injunction does not stand.”
He added, “The dissolution of Kano State executives of the party at all levels therefore stands.”

Johnson further warned that, if confirmed, the injunction could be considered an “exercise in legal rascality,” and that the NNPP would pursue measures to ensure judicial officers involved are sanctioned by the National Judicial Council.
