The APC statement, issued on Thursday by State Organising Secretary and Coordinator of the party’s e-membership registration exercise Hassan Abubakar, described the claims as baseless propaganda intended to mislead the public and create confusion within the party.
The statement emphasised that Senator Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa State, remains a committed and card-carrying member of the APC.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, at no time, defected, contemplated defection, or associated himself with any other political party,” the party said.
Abubakar explained that the photograph being circulated online, purportedly showing Adamu with the ADC, was actually taken during the ongoing APC e-membership registration and revalidation exercise.
The programme is a nationwide initiative designed to strengthen the party’s database and internal democracy.
The party criticised the attempt to misrepresent the activity as a defection as politically irresponsible and an act of deliberate misinformation.
The statement highlighted Senator Adamu’s longstanding loyalty and contributions to the growth and stability of the APC, noting that these remain well-documented and unquestionable.
APC in Nasarawa State urged its members, the media, and the public to disregard the false claims and rely only on verified information from credible sources.
