Gabriel Suswam Senate comeback 2027 declaration was made during a public event over the weekend, where he confirmed his political ambition to re-enter the National Assembly’s upper chamber.
Suswam, a two-term governor of Benue State, stated that his decision aligns with what he described as the political preference and party alignment of his constituents, noting that the state has historically shifted between major political parties.
He recalled that Benue State was largely dominated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for over a decade before later transitioning toward the APC in subsequent election cycles.
According to him, his political future is guided by the prevailing sentiments of his people, adding that he intends to remain consistent with their evolving political direction.
Suswam declares bid for Senate seat in 2027 move comes shortly after his exit from the PDP to join the ruling APC, a development that has continued to generate political reactions within the state.
He further explained that while he can no longer contest for the governorship due to constitutional limits, he remains eligible and willing to contest for a senatorial seat if the opportunity arises.
