The restriction will be in effect from 12 noon to 6 p.m. within and around the two local government areas.

The measure is aimed at ensuring a peaceful, free, fair, and credible election.

Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju confirmed that security personnel will be deployed across the LGAs, stationed at strategic locations, polling units, and major roads to prevent violence, electoral malpractice, and other criminal activities.

Residents are advised to comply strictly with the restriction, avoid gatherings near polling units, refrain from carrying weapons or suspicious items, and report unusual activities.

Adepoju warned that anyone violating the order or engaging in disruptive behaviour would be arrested and prosecuted.

He also urged political parties, candidates, and supporters to shun violence and abide by the provisions of the Electoral Act.

Parents and guardians have been called on to caution their wards against being used to create disturbances during the election.
