Hon. Dr. Dolapo Badru has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Lagos Island Federal Constituency I following the party’s House of Representatives primary election held on Saturday.

Badru, a three-term lawmaker, secured the party’s ticket after the primary election conducted in accordance with the provisions of the APC constitution and the Electoral Act.
The exercise was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, while his emergence was confirmed in the official list of successful candidates released after the exercise.
Widely recognised within the constituency for his legislative experience, Badru has built a reputation through constituency projects, empowerment initiatives and social intervention programmes targeted at improving the welfare of residents.
In his acceptance message, the APC candidate expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates and supporters for the confidence placed in him during the primary process.
Badru also reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and pledged to continue advancing the interests of constituents through people-focused legislation and development initiatives.
The lawmaker said he would sustain programmes and policies aimed at enhancing socio-economic growth and improving living standards across Lagos Island Federal Constituency I if elected in the 2027 general election.

His emergence positions him as the APC flagbearer for one of Lagos State’s key federal constituencies as political parties begin preparations for the next electoral cycle.
