President Tinubu congratulates ex-Governor Ibrahim Shema on his 68th birthday, praising his legacy of financial discipline and infrastructure development
President Tinubu has extended his warmest congratulations to former Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shehu Shema, on the occasion of his 68th birthday, lauding his legacy of leadership, discipline, and commitment to development.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Shema as a visionary and patriotic leader whose tenure left a lasting mark on Katsina State.
“President Tinubu joins family and friends to celebrate the visionary leader, whose legacy of statesmanship and financial discipline remains a reference in the country,” the statement read.
Highlighting Shema’s notable achievements, Tinubu praised his commitment to human and infrastructural development, particularly in education and healthcare.
“The former governor raised the standard of governance by investing in infrastructure during his tenure, which included new secondary schools, girl-child primary schools, Almajiri model schools, ICT and business institutes, clinics, and a 250-bed specialist hospital.”
President Tinubu also commended Shema’s patriotism, noting that his policies and governance style reflected discipline and foresight.
He offered prayers for Shema, wishing him continued good health and long life.
Ibrahim Shehu Shema, born on 22 September 1957 in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, served as the state’s governor for two terms from 2007 to 2015.
